Brand-Spanking-New

Fresh meat!

Good afternoon darlings!
My name is Kara Love, and I'm new to this forum. I've been networking like mad as of late, and decided to give this site a shot. I've head of it before but haven't committed to the idea.

But, nevertheless, here I am. I'll do my best to keep up with posts and such. I work a lot, so it's hard, but I'll try.

Thanks for having me, crumpets.

xx

You should probably fill out the introduction survey.
Just a suggestion.

Whoops. My bad.

Here are the original questions to get you started:
Actually, we're changing a few, now that we mention it.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I work as a nurse full time, and model part time. I like to dance, I like to party, and I like tea.

2. Where are you from?
Everywhere. Mostly Canada. Right now I'm in British Columbia.

3. Who is your favorite author?
Dorothy Parker and Chuck Palahniuk

4. What are your favorite films?
Spun, A Clockwork Orange, and Alice in Wonderland (old school please)

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
What wedding? Who said anything about me wanting to get married?

6. At your funeral?
Lemme check me will.... Oh, Bell Book and Candle by Eddie Reader and Out of this world by Bush

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
You have to want to die to be Gothic? Alright, thanks for the memo. I would want... a chainsaw massacre style demise.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
I want to get thrown in a lake. Fuck letting worms eat my brains.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
A DIY outfit I made myself, consisting of a corset, ripped up shirt, plaid skirt, torn stockings, and a bunch of clashing patterns and such. It's darling.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Pizza Day at school.

11. What's your favorite band?
I have too many. It really depends on the mood. Favorite genre would have to be industrial.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I have my masters in Nursing, and soon to go to Med school

13. Why did you join?
Heard about it through the grapevine, figured I'd give it a shot.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
I'm a lady.

(snicker) what exactly have you "head" about it? Did you "hea" the one about the one dude and the other guy, huh? Have you "head" that one?

I'll be here all day, folks.

Oh yeah, and hi. Forgot to say that earlier. I'm new too, so we should be like best friends! Horay!

My first Alice in Wonderland experience was the Disney version, and even that had a little bit of creepiness to me. Reading the book later on, I'm sorry to say that I disliked the story more. All the same, I am a little curious to see what Tim Burton does to the story. What is your take so far from trailers, stills, etc., and do you plan to see it?
My favorite Disney movie was Robin Hood if that tells you anything

You know what, I don't know if it's just me, but from what I can tell he's doing American McGee's Alice, except that she's a little older and not insane.

Also, how do you know she was talking about the disney one? She said old school, that could mean anything as old as the... what, 1913 version? Am I getting that year right? I don't even think I've seen the disney one... but I'm certainly in no rush to do so.

I don't know-I was just stating that Disney was my first experience with the story. There is also a version with a lot of claymation that was very well done and I want to say was from Germany?
You might have been referring to a 1903 version or a 1915 version, but I encourage all of you to search for Alice in Wonderland in imdb.com. You'd be amazed at what you'll find.
For the record, imdb was reviewed as a legit reference source while I was in Library school

Kara_Love, I like tea too! ... Oh, wait ... I like t-shirts. No, wait .... I like wet t-shirts. Yeah, that's true. I thought since you said you were a lady that you might take offense, but then you like Dorothy Parker so you can take it! LOL!

Well, Parker and Clockwork Orange in your responses make me hopefull. But be wary of that getting thrown in a lake thing. Instead of worms, eventually something else eats you. It's just basic biology. Unless you get cremated.

Good job and continued success on the medical career.

Welcome to this place. I look forward to your contributions.
