Never rob Wisconsin Banks

Some of you may remember hearing of an incident a year ago here in Wisconsin of a man tackling a bank robber. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC7RFasvo78

Well once again recently somone tried to rob a bank, and once more he was tackled, right here in Wisconsin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEIRDHZx5Nc

Maybe we should just make September here in Wisconsin "tackle a bank robber" month.

There are two places you really don't want to start a career in burglary - in Texas, where there are more guns per capita than anywhere else, and Wisconsin, where there are more bars per capita than anywhere else.

I grew up there, and there's something equally lovable and not-quite-right about the average Wisconsinite. And there are more citizen interventions in crimes, fires and accidents there than anywhere else I've heard of.

In fact, I wouldn't have left if I could stand the winters there.

The state also seems to produce an in-ordinate amount of cannibalistic serial killers/

That is very true. It's a byproduct of the environment. As I was saying, there's something equally lovable and not-quite-right about the average Wisconsinite. How else do you explain the popularity in those parts of those goofy cheeseheads. But now and then, nature denies one the lovable trait and doubles down on the not-quite-right part.

I wish I could say they all come from "Da Nort Woods, eh?" But Dahmer grew up in West Allis near where I lived and lived in downtown Milwaukee when he had his 17 victim murder spree. In fact, there's no evidence he ever spent any time in a rural environment. I'd be perfectly willing to blame it on his time at Ohio State University or in the Army if you think that will fly.

By the way, I have never personally worn a cheesehead. However, when I moved here to Texas and started developing a circle of native friends, I purchased a cheesehead shaped like a cowboy hat and displayed it prominently in my apartment ... just to remind them who they were messin' with.

Would be a great way to promote tourism to the area. Although I think it would have to be advertised a little like a flash mob dance. Maybe synchronise the tacklings or something.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm beginning to like Wisconsin dwellers.

Lady Sorrow, I'm only sorry that you have a keyboard, you ignorant, supercilious mouthpiece for the inane.

You just made my point.

I didn't say insane. I said inane.

Different. Word. Completely.
