See, in my case, they are more careful, because i have darker skin, so if they burn me, I could sue. Which is why more treatments are needed for someone of my skin tone. But it all depends on who you go to, where, nad how dark or light your skin is.

TallOne, do you know if there are any side effects?

Such as damages to the skin?

There is the possibility of burning, particularly on darker skin. (The melanin "grabs" the laser light.) A licensed, experienced technician using the proper settings should not cause burns, though.

My skin is a little red and slightly tender after the treatments. It only takes about 12 hours to get back to normal.

I have been treated with two different types of machines. With one, a cooling gel was applied to my skin and then the laser used. With the other, the machine shoots a blast of cryogen cooling spray on my skin a half-second before the laser hits. That machine is more comfortable and causes less irritation. And it's less messy since there's no gooky gel to wipe off! In the U.S., it's known as the Candela GentleLASE or GentleYAG. If you decide to have laser treatments, I highly recommend finding a technician who uses this type of machine.

This stuff in a blue bottle called "Tend Skin". Has salicylic acid and aspirin in it. Smells like sh*t but it's the shiznit......use it every time you get out of the shower. It dries the skin out so the follicle holes don't heal all the way over so the hair can't grow out. It might peel a little bit at first but after a few days you should be fine. I think you can get it online or any Sally's beauty supply.

Just don't get the Gigi brand (called Rx bumps, I think) in a green bottle. That doesn't work. (even tho it smells nice)

I've actually never heard of the "cryogen cooling spray" before.

I think the cryogen cooling spray protects the epidermal layer of the skin, so you won't scar.

I would think that laser hair removal has the potiental to pose risks such as scarring and discolouration.

There is always possible side effects of the use of technology.

Since, technology is evolving, the technology of laser hair removal is probably less likely to damage the skin as opposed to two years ago or so.

I wax because I'm qualified to do so and know enough not to damage my own skin or someone's else's.

In the meantime, laser hair removal stays on my wishlist. I need to know more about laser treatments before I decide.

Well, no. Not really. But I have heard of worse stuff.

What I don't understand is the "foot fetish".

I really don't think feet are attractive. None that I've seen anyway.

I saw your posts on Randomness, but that was like two pages ago! So I didn't answer... I'll just say that I've eaten a lollipop with a real cricket embedded in it.

From some sort of bug museum or exhibit. I had it given to me, so I don't know for sure. I would get another; it was better than I thought it would be.

The cooling spray does protect the skin from excessive heat and thus damage. It also makes the procedure much more comfortable.

I don't understand the foot fetish. I think feet are ugly. A good foot rub is very relaxing, however... but it's not even remotely sexual to me.

Shaving as foreplay? Nah, don't understand that one either. Anything having to do with body hair is an immediate turn-off to me.

It's not an immediate turn off to me, but I really don't think of it as a type of foreplay....
