Clarke Kent Self

Myself I don't care overmuch for superheroes and least if all Superman...
Be that as it may, I think he illustrates something about Goths.
You see, the spandex dressing umderpants over tights freak is the real him, Clarke Kent is his disguised self.
I think people often make this mistake about Goths, thinking all the dress, black and stuff (myself I only ever wore makeup when working, but whatever) is a disguise. For a Goth, to take it off would be a disguise.

Do you have a Clarke Kent Self?

and how do people react to it?

When I have to dress otherwise from the way I normally do and present myself in a way society deems "normal" I have noticed people seem very uneasy around me.
By their reactions, I think they seem to see me as physically intimidating for some reason (this is odd, as I am not abnormally tall and slightly built) instead of I don't know, cute or something(?)
I am trying to figure this out.
