I wonder why Goths are associated to satan worshipers really. Most gothic music isn't even hardcore. It's kindof melodic and progressive.

Someone out there could be a satanist and goth, I guess. For the most part there really isn't any reason to believe that Goth is associated to satanism in the first place.

I definitely believe in God, but when I didn't I was just an atheist. Probably the only satanist out there were from abusive christian families them drove them to insanity. That's all I think of.

Vampirism Isn't even really gothic.

There are different word conventions at play here. I am certain there are some satanists who do take it upon themselves to sacrifice animals; different brands with the same name.

Actually, that's an arguably flawed statement to make.

The term was in use prior to LaVey's creation of the so-called faith. Kind of like how the goth subculture is derived from terms which had previous connotations. It's just as applicable to them today, though clarifying one's use is important. There will be common sense assumptions made which generally make the need for clarification an absent one, but all the same, it's an ambiguous term.
