here's a photo, from my extremely amateur photo gallery. i took the pic because spiders give me extreme heeby-geebies, and because this one had a lot of detail, and size... and attitude too. it didn't like the flash. heh. i was impressed with the results, and especially the fact that its just a little bit bigger than the spider's actual size. i'm hoping to get a better camera soon. this one is just a 3.2mp. good for taking texture photos tho.

Nice detail ED. He looks mighty Ornery. o.O You captured him/her very well.
Spiders give me the HeeBee GeeBee's in a big way, as well.. * Ack*
I've been reluctant to post some of my Photos in here until now.
All of you guys are sooooooo immensely talented, my pictures always seemed a bit drab in comparison to such incredible Art.
But ED inspired me, so I'm going for it. : )
These are photos I took in one of the Old Growth Forests on the Lewis & Clark trail & on the Oregon Coast.

Thanks EPS.
I spelled heebee geebees wrong! *smacks head*
And very nice photos. I really like the contrasting colors, especially the blue of the river. gives it an almost surreal feel. What kind of camera did you use? i hope you post more.
i love photography, especially in nature. i see so many scenes just driving around that makes me wish i had my camera with me, but it usually makes me feel silly getting out in the middle of traffic to take a picture of some tree i spotted. heh.

Both of you, those photos are great! Existential, if that's amateur, I'd like to see some of your good work...and E_P_S, those photos look almost like paintings. I love them!

Bear in mind that EPS' photos were taken on my Treo 650. For non geeks it's a fancy camera phone so not exactly the best picture quality. In fact pretty much all of our pics are taken with the Treo since we don't have an actual camera. I hope to remedy that soon and then we'll get some dungeon pics for all y'all

That explains the slight graininess in a couple of them Still, I like the shots, manimal & EPS. Sometimes imperfections add to the overall appeal, and don't require expensive gadgets to produce.
Thanks Metatron. *sheepish grin* Unfortunately I don't take nearly as many photos as I'd like to. It goes in bursts of inspiration. And usually, the inspiration comes when there's no camera handy.

Thanks guys. : ) : ) I appreciate the Feedback.
This is what I took the photos with, as Manimal mentioned;
It uses a much higher Res than most offer.
Although it has an automatic shut off feature that REALLY pisses me off when I am trying to line up a shot. * Curses*
I HAD a Badass camera and Uber powerful telephoto lens, but apparently the Assfucks who broke into my house in Houston, needed it more.
If I had a working scanner, I could scan in some of the pictures I took with it, while hanging upside down by my Ankles from the largest Suspension Bridge in North America.
* Hee*
Which incidentally is the infamous bridge from the movie Natural Born Killers, located outside of Taos, New Mexcio.
I miss my camera.. : (
But the Treo does a decent job..
I'll be psyched when we get a better Camera..
Here's a few more from the the same trip.

Ooh ooh ooh! I love the middle pic, of the beach. was that a rainy morning or just the resulting image? man, see? and the lavender sky in #3 is superb. Did you change the size before posting? I always set my camera at its highest resolution, then shrink in photoshop, and do minor adjustments to color balance, etc. i love it when cameras actually capture effects that I would normally have to add in digitally. Very nice, EPS.
Here is a sample of my digital efforts from a couple years back. It's all a collage really. It was originally intended to be the cover of a novel, but now it's just an image, as I took a different approach with the cover.

It was storming at the coast during most of the Trip, so yes that second pic was taken while it was raining like hell.
I also do the same thing with all my pictures as well, ED. I take the photos in the highest possible Res and then reduce the size with The Gimp.
Photoshop can slurp my Ass. Gimp has me spoiled, spoiled, spoiled now. I love it!!
I thought the Lavender sky came out well too, it's so hard to catch contrasting shades in the sky at sunrise and sunset. The Coast here is Sooooo Pretty though, I think the pictures really take themselves.
Thanks for the Feedback.
I love the layering in your last photo. I'm still trying to get better at that myself.
Really nice work though, you have true talent.

That's pleasantly awesome, Disfunction. I too use a toothpick to smite my enemies, though a shard of a Wheat Thin cracker works just as well.
Seriously. Ever tried it?

Try to get a salty piece, and make sure to slash, not stab. Wheat Thins, unlike toothpicks, don't stab well.

Thanks EPS. its nice to hear encouraging words.
I've always heard great things about gimp but have never been able to get it to work on my pc. couldn't figure out how to install it, since there was no setup file. i got frustrated and left it alone, sticking with fireworks and photoshop for my creation/editing needs. i use to use paintshop pro, before realizing how much simpler things are in photoshop. but i don't like how it tends to bloat files unnecessarily.

Toothpicks huh? All all this time I've been using chopsticks and a yo-yo... the tooth pick does have stealth..hmm..
EPS: Beautiful shots, I really love the landscapes you captured..
Disfunction: Your work is marketable, you should consider cafepress.
Disorder: Your digital work is great.. how long did it take you?

Those are amazing Demon Eyes, especially the paintings. What mediums did you use for each?

Demon Eyes, your work is excellent. I especially like the back grounds in the paintings. Beautiful. And, slightly OT, is that gif from the new final fantasy movie, there in your avatar?
Sanctus, thanks. I don't think it took very long at all. maybe a few hours one evening if I remember correctly. would probably not have taken that long had I actually known what the hell I was doing.

Mmm
Well a lot of good artwork on here. Too bad the last time I posted a photograph no one commented on the artistic quality of the picture because it is also in "shill." This one isn't in 'shill'

Catch, what was the motivation behind it? What were you trying to capture? I couldn't find your other photo in shill. maybe you could post it again here.

I'm glad you asked, but not going to go into everything, because that just kills the moment. It's highly conceptualized.
On '100% Pure' it has a dramatic black and white background. The bottle is also reflected in the backgroud. HINT: There are 3 planes of perception working together, to form one concept.
In this one, that has no name because it is mainly for advertising purposes, it carries over a lot of the same colors and principles of the artwork on the DVD. You see it use a black and white background and yellow like the reflection pieces. Black and white like the dream pieces, but the photograph itself is in vivid like the realism pieces.
Once again you can make out a trinity, but one of them is a solid/functional line on the vertical bias (commercial technique). With an angle down and the case opened slightly it is slightly sexual with the reflection off the DVD contining an arch, that also points upward, back to the DVD.

I see. very interesting how you set it up. I never took any significant art classes, or paid any attention to art theory. my work in school was always praised by teachers in assignments, but i never put much effort into them because they were assignments. just as with writing, i usually can't create anything under pressure or within specific guidelines. i don't remember ever writing or creating anything using the specifics given by the instructor(s).

Art is an interest. Took some classes in college, but read about it and what not. Changed my degree after finding out hard it is to make it, but still play around here and there.
Your artwork is amazing really. So keep it up. Very dramatic and the effects inhance it a lot.
