Itunes to mp3 files?? Help, I am a moron!

So just a random question. Does anybody know how to convert the Itunes file type to a regular mp3? Is there an easy way to do it? I use Itunes to get new music, but I use Windows Media Player to put all my music on my player. Any ideas? Thanks. I thought I would put this in the music section, if it isn't the right place, just ignore it.

Yes, you can do it with iTunes.

Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing

Then you should see a line that says "Import using"

Its most likely set to "AAC Encoder". Change it to "MP3 Encoder"

Click ok. Now you should be able to right click on a song and select "Convert Selection to MP3".

I think it creates a new MP3 copy of a file, rather than overwriting it, so you may end up with two of each song.

Otherwise you could search on google for "MPEG4 to MP3", but I've never tried any of those so no idea which are any good (or which are free).

WinAmp is free, works with ipods, and converts all files to mp3s and other formats easily.

Same with WinFF, also works really well to convert AAC files to Mp3 ( I think it's AAC anyway)

Hy guys,
I was a regular user of free converters but I was always disappointed after conversion cause they were always losing in quality. So I listen to one of friend and I bought Tunebite (an universal converter, btw) and now my problem of quality losing.......is gone. I think it is a nice tool and also useful
