Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Whatever happened to Depeche Mode
Now I've never classified myself as goth. Mostly because I'm a serious cheerleader. Yay. (go ahead and flame me. atleast I'm accepted for being a whore in white tennis shoes)
But I've always loved Depeche Mode. They don't have the deepest lyrics but I think he's got a beautiful voice.
Atleast they doesn't always whine about how their failed search for vampires is going.

I like Depeche Mode as well. They came out with an album called "Playing The Angel" a couple years ago, but, other than that, I haven't heard anything.

I really like their album 'Somebody'
It's got some nice bass lines.

You expect us to flame you because you're a cheerleader?
You remind me of one of those attention-mongering, most probably obese, nascently Wiccan teenagers who post "I'M A WITCH. I KNOW YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT THIS STRANGE RELIGION AND ARE AFRAID, BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS I WILL ANSWER THEM. BTW IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN JUST GO TO HELL."

Meh. They aren't necessarily Goth Rock. More of a band that Goths like that isn't exactly Goth, I think. I generally see them as kind of a blend of New Wave and Progressive Rock. Though I suppose they could be considered Dark Wave.

They wrote 'Personal Jesus'.
They realised that everything else they had done previously or would ever do again was moot since this was the very basis of their legacy from then on and threw in the towel.

Last decent album was Songs of Faith and Devotion. They've had a few good songs since but no real solid albums. The inspiration has run dry I think.

My old job had me as the singer for our cover of "policy of truth". I like the song, but honestly, the Dude's voice isn't that good, nor are his vocals particularly complicated. That's the reason they gave it to me, I'm not experienced enough as a singer yet to do more complicated stuff.

The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives he releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, he hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate,
Lo, we shall rise up,
And then well make the buggers eyes water.
