Despanan is teh gay!!!
So I just got cast as the lead in a production of The Little Dog Laughed. The conversation the director had with me went something like this:

Dir: So, this play is pretty edgy. You'll be playing a gay character, are you cool with that?
Me: Yeah, no problem.
Dir: You'll have to kiss a guy.
Me: I'm cool with that. It's just acting.
Dir: ...and the script calls for nudity.
Me: Okay, if it's tasteful.
Dir: Oh, you'll have to cut your hair and shave your beard.
Me: Whoa, that's going too far!

In the end we compromised. I'll just shave my beard 'cause I can grow that back in a couple of months, as opposed to years.
So yeah, looks like Desp is going brokeback.

That is so cool that you are not afraid to represent and stand for LGBT in theatre. Many would avoid such a "controversial" role. Kudos to you. xx

Two lead roles now, this is the first one where I'm officially gay.
I'm pretty pumped about it. I think it's an ambition for most straight actors to convincingly play a gay character.
After a few years of playing bit parts I'm super stoked.
