"Murdering the innocent to advance an ideology is wrong every time, everywhere."
Given the speaker of this sentence, does anyone else find this hypocritical?

Yes it is from Bush's farewell address. I can't begin to understand how he can say such blatantly hypocritical things and there are still many people who cheer when he does so.

It's not murder if you put on the right clothes and make obeisances to a piece of cloth tied to a metal pole first. That makes it heroism. Jeez, don't you guys know anything?

I don't think he does either, as a matter of fact.

People have been criticizing Bush at the whim of a hat every since he arrived in President, but really he's just a West Texas girl trying to put food on his family. You shouldn't misunderestimate him.

So you don't think he's responsible for the deaths he caused in an unjustified war, just because he didn't pull the trigger?

He is no more directly responsible for those deaths than you or I are. We're both citizens of the US and have funded that war in one manner or another.

You know the President is the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, and responsible for any actions thereof, right?
And I dunno about you, but I'm a dual citizen and can avoid a draft.

Are the men and women serving in the military also murderers?
Its got nothing to do with a draft. Providing funding for a measure is supporting it. Have you read Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience"? I highly reccomend it. He went to jail because he refused to support a war. Unless you've gone through a similar experience, any criticisms are just idle statements of opinion.

Then by extention, the tax payers that are providing for the wages and equipment for these men and women are murderers as well. They couldn't do it without us.

We're not equally guilty.
That completely ignores the role of a government, the inequality of power, the definition of Commander In Chief, and the forced subordination of the military.

I'm not talking about who has a bigger percentage of culpability. However, other than express opinions, no one has really done a whole lot to oppose this action in any meaningful manner.
Thoreau spent a day in jail because he didn't like what his tax dollars were going toward. By cooperating and contributing to the system, we're "voting with our dollars" and propping this up.

But you're pretending to absolve Bush's fault as the commander in chief of the American military force, which is just not reasonable.

Let's say someone comes to your house with a baseball bat and threatens to break your hand if you don't give him your wallet. You cave and give the guy your wallet. He uses the money to buy a gun, and shoots a school up with it. Congratulations, you're a child killer?
I understand the point you're trying to get across, but I don't think pretending there's an equivalency between Bush and John Q. Taxpayer is the way to do it.
