Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Sex Gang Children
I know this thread needed to be created. It HAD to be. They're an excellent, unique deathrock band that's still alive and touring! They have a strange sound, but it's so wonderful in its own way. My favorites from them are "Arms of Cicero", "Sebastiane", "Ecstasy & Vendetta", and "Oh, Funny Little Man".

Wouldn't really call them Deathrock...They were one of the original Batcave bands, right?

An excellent thread, but also one that already exists! Nevermind though, they deserve another.
Hmmm... I wonder what my favourite song by them could possibly be?
Aside from the obvious, I also love Boss and Beauty, Sebastiane, Slave and Beasts. As well as everything else. Basically.

How did we not notice we hadn't created a thread for them?
My favorite songs are Sugar Pill, Ecstasy & Vendetta, Sebastiane, Into the Abyss, and Arms of Cicero.

By the way, did you know that Andi Sexgang is featured in The Deadfly Ensemble's song Kriminal Tango?
Prettyness.

There are a number of things that have been brought to attention in this thread that I must confess my undying love for:
1. Haunted's avatar
2. Kriminaltango
3. The Deadfly Ensemble
4. The idea of Andi having a pet fox named Alexander. I was not aware of this lovely fact.

I just found two versions of Arms of Cicero. There's the one I presume is the normal one, and there's one played in a lower note, slightly slower.
I like this new version. Now I have that song thrice in my iPod, two of the cheery one, and one of the slower version.

My favs:
Sebastiane - I like to shout the "Eat your children baked in a pie" bit.. it makes my mum think I've lost it.. little does she know I NEVER HAD "IT" TO LOSE *crazy*
Arms of Cicero - I prefer the acoustic version, but either way, I love it
Barbarossa - makes me giggle for some reason

It's because MASTURBATION is in the lyrics isn't it? How immature. Haha. Kidding.
"Cannibal Queen" is probably my favorite song in existence. Ever.

For ONCE I have actaually managed to get a cd! Yes, a real one. Two in fact!
I bought the Legends 2 disc set from Ebay ( the seller accepted postal orders so I nearly pissed my pants with joy )
Favourites from this are currently :
The Bormann chain
Oh funny man
Beasts
Barbarossa ( I sing and dance to this at work )
Arms of Cicero
Boss and beauty
The Hungry years ( I know it was basically just Andi with Marc Almond, but still, I LOVE it )
God dies

I feel rather dumb for even stating this here, but I've never heard any of them. Where should I start? Do they have a good album that I should buy?

I have noticed that Medea is cited as a particularly good album. If only I could get one >.>
Or get a best of, like I did.

YES. "Song and Legend". It's said to be the greatest early goth album of all time (for those who can see past Christian Death's "Only Theatre of Pain" which, in my oppinion can't hold a candle to SaL. Maybe a match or a small ciragette lighter, but not a candle).

Oh come on, Only Theatre of Pain is its own masterpiece :P
Anyway. Sex Gang Children threads are mandatory!
My favourite song would have to be Arms of Cicero. I would have died from excitement if I'd been at Drop Dead festival; They played it as an encore >_<

On my first date with this girl I asked her if I could read her a poem. By the intimacy of candlelight, I said
And when you CLOSE your eyes,
strrr-etchy fingers reach down and...
CARESS YOUR THI-IGHS!
CARESS YOUR THI-IGHS!
CARESS YOUR THI-IGHS!
We're married now.

Well, I think Virgin Prunes' "If I Die, I Die" is one of the greatest early goth albums, but everyone else seems to hate it. *sniffle*

"If I Die, I Die" is on my list -- above "Only Theatre of Pain"
