Farewell for a while :(

I am told that I cannot go on here for a little while.

As ridiculous as this may sound, I have to do this since a friends agreed that for Lent I should give up going on here... as well as swearing.

Now I'm not Catholic, but still.

So goodbye everyone and see you again after Easter! I will miss spending countless minutes browsing around and randomly posting here. G.net was here when I needed it most to waste my time.

This seriously sucks.

I will miss you guys!!!

Lent sucks, it's pointless deprivation.

Come back to us! We have cookies of the uber-goffix variety.

During Lint, one observing the holiday is supposed to give up something they consider fun and enjoyable in order to sympathize with those who don't have quite as much.

I assume she is doing this in order to explore other religions, or perhaps as a favor to her friend.

If you aren't even Catholic, then why are you doing this?

I'm not Catholic, or Christian at all for that matter, but I sometimes participate in lent just to see if I have the will power. Last year I gave up my television, and I haven't watched it since. I finally removed it from my room a few weeks ago.

Lent is still a great idea, no matter what religion. I'd do it but I don't know what to give out and I doubt I'd have the willpower to do so.

I've tried fasting before, but I always cave after about the 6th hour of water-only. x_x;;;

Plus, if I don't eat my three squares, I'm not exactly the epitome of love and kindness. :/

I agree. Lent is a GREAT idea. It's a challenge, and a healthy one at that.

Agreed, I also like the fact that it forces people to add a bit of variety to their diets. Personaly I'm tired of the three main meal meats chicken, pork, and beef (unless they're made into sausages(except chicken)), if I could I would eat fish more often. Unfortunately for me here in the midwest there isn't much in terms of a history of fishing (except for recreation) so it's not hardwired into the diet as much as chicken, pork, and beef. Eh that's what I get I suppose for being the only one in my family born by the sea.

That's unusual. I've never heard of it. If I had to give something up that I consider fun and enjoyable, it would be all of my manga and books. Lint sounds like a really good holiday. Everyone should celebrate it to sympathize with those who don't have as much.

I gave up cooked food last year for lent. This year I am thinking about adding something :~) Instead of doing less I am going to do more to celebrate myself.

Black Rose, you will be missed. Hope you survive lent without GNET and actually gain something positive from this self-sacrifice you are giving.

I actually went through with this Lent thing since it teaches you that you can live without something or that you can do something really good. That's a good explanation Tam Li Hua.

And I do appologize, dark_dragon_of_ice, I didn't know where to put this.

I never saw the point in Lent. If something is worth doing at all then it isn't worth giving up. And why give up something temporarily. Sacrifice it like Isaac gd!
