Imminent holiday thoughts

As a number of people have noticed, this is December. Cue Christmas music, even more annoying commercials and frothing consumerism. I do love capitalism. I feel ridiculous thinking about getting presents for people this year, just because it makes me remind myself of one of those fucking mothers who stand in line for hours in order to get this new toy for their kid who will absolutely shit all over them if he doesn't get it, godforbid. Watch this, and if you don't feel completely disgusted or [GOD FORBID.] you can identify with these people or pick yourself out of the crowd, I'm glad I don't know you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5Sx5...layer_embedded
I found something amazing for my wife. I would post a link or image if she didn't browse this blog on occasion. One day, I'll take a picture of her with it and post it. I can't wait to see her with it. I'm jealous cos I want one for myself, kind of. But it'll be better for her.
Holidays should be about whatever makes it poignant and worth celebrating to you, not about something ridiculous that people say you should like, or want, or do. If you don't want to go shopping, don't. So many people feel obligated because of the stigma attached to Christmas. But that's ridiculous. Do whatever makes you happiest.
