Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Yeah, the Ramones are for ALL emotions. But their first album has "Loudmouth" : "You're a loudmouth, baby. You better shut it up. I'm gonna beat you up." And "53rd and 3rd": "Then I took out my razor blade. Then I did what God forbade. Now the cops are after me. But I proved that I'm no sissy." Those songs are great for when you want to rip someone's throat out.

Curse of Millhaven (Murder Ballads, Nick Cave) is pretty good when I'm angry.
Though, if I just want not to be angry, Feeling Good (Nina Simone) works the best.

I like to listen to old Korn songs...I'm not even into Korn. However, I show respect for a band who can live up to a Pink Floyd remake. Pink Floyd is god...of a music sort.

Wolfmoon-no real hypocrisy there. I've never said I disliked Type-O for being a bunch of racist fucktards. I just dislike them because their music sucks. And the fact that they're as slippery when answering the "are you still racist" question as Bush is with the English language is just icing on my cake-of-hate.
As for my love of the early hardcore stuff.....yes, I know they were a bunch of racists. However, very few bands can match the pure power of early NYHC (except the Blood Brothers). When you're a pissed off 13 year old, that's all you're paying attention to. And, unlike Carnivore/Type-O-Negative (they are the same band, so the whole "they've never said anything racist" argument becomes null and void), Cro-Mags and Agnostic have both come out saying "we were young, we were stupid, and we regret not only being so ignorant, but spreading that ignorance around" (however, AF have forever sullied my love for them by being in one of the "Crememaster" films).

Been listening to oldschool 1990s Sepultura & Nailbomb [among other things] for the past 3 days. That used to get me hella aggro [among other bands]. Still does. Minus composing drawings, songlyrics & poems while listening to them.

When I'm angry I just fume and simmer... I need something to dissipate it, not exacerbate it... so I'll listen to screamy songs that turn my anger into pure energy.
One I can think of is "Plug-in Baby" by Muse.
But I don't really get in a rage when I'm angry, I usually just get sad and self-pitying. I could write up a HUGE list of songs I listen to when I feel sorry for myself.

Dimmu Borgir - Vredesbyrd
You can listen to this in any kind of mood but especially when you're pissed off.
Probably the best quitar melody in the world. Of course after Paranoid^^'

Guitar melody? hm... guess I missed something... I agree, it's a good song, the best of that album.

Well, when I'm having a bad day it's Decapitated my cd-player will spit... any song by them will do!

Let's see... Good songs to be pissed off too.
Hmm. Dope makes some good songs, like "Die MF Die" and "Burn", Mindless Self Indulgence's "Stupid Motherfucker", and Dimmu Borgir's "Puritana".

Sadus `The Wake` (I bet Pathogen will know who this band is).
Also ...
Morbid Angel `Altars of Madness` is a brilliant album for bad days.

Loy, I can conceed that they did have some mysoganistic songs.
But I don't think that the lyrics to any of their songs condoned racism.
The fighting won't stop until we're all dead...No one wins we all lose, everybody's gonna die.
The only band member Carnivore and TON had in common was Peter Steele. So, still not the same band. And no, TON has never made a racist statement in any of their music.

If i want to replace pissed off with happy/cheerful, i'll probably listen to 'Hair of the Dog' by Nazareth, or pretty much any black sabbath.
If i want to wallo in self pity (we all do it sometimes) i'll listen to some VNV, or the Cure or something like that.
But if i want to psyche my self up (cause who doesn't love an adrenalin rush) i'll probably play 'Crimson King' by Demons and Wizards, or some other similarly aggresive metal.

if it's relationship breakdown, then it's Bauhaus - Crowds, 13th Floor Elevators - You're Gonna Miss Me and The Cruxshadows - Marilyn, My Bitterness
if it's general anger I normally listen to Breakcore and have a mini rave in my room or something like KMFDM - Flesh, to release the tension
and if it's anger with society it can range from Crass - Big A little a, to Alien Sex Fiend - E.S.T (Trip To The Moon)

Either the fight song by MM or i live my death by 8 foot sativa. when im wanting to go blow up something but i dont have the material necessary i'll listen to victory by dawn of azazel. the end bit sounds like demons screaming so it works well enough

Maybe "Necrophilia" of Suicide Commando, or "Color me blood red" of Malice Mizer.
