I will admit Van Halen may be talented musicians but there are many talented musicians that cant write good songs.
And many that can who never get a chance. Van Halen wrote some pretty stupid songs.

Not to go on and on But the title was worst band. Somehow I dont consider Clay Aiken , Jessica simpson or any of those other singers for hire bands.

You don't have to like them, but you probably ought to at least acknowledge that other people, influential people in our culture (they can be morons and still influential, as I'm sure you well know) do consider those bands, and so for the sake of our criticism it makes sense to me to consider them bands as well.

I can't stand Red Hot Chilipeppers, the only song that i may like is Road Trippin but they come up with songs that blow man! They sound like a bunch of Backstreet boys with guitars.

I have to say I hate rap because of what the culture it spawned/spawned from does to women. "Fiddy" tells women they're all bitches and ho's and that they're good for nothing but having sex with men so long that eventually they start to internalize that and believe it. Even the female rappers commit many of the same crimes against humanity. Most male rap is about how tough this guy is because he has a gun and 300 friends and he subjects dozens of women. Most female rap is about how the rapper is supposedly amazingly good in bed. I think the whole culture is disgusting and it would be worth losing the few good artists/bands to get this cancer out of society.

That said, I do enjoy Run DMC and Tupac occasionally, and I'm sure there are others worth a damn out there somewhere.

So I guess it would be more appropriate to put "popular" or "radio-play" in front of every mention of rap above, but I still stand by my statements.

i HATE HATE HATE HATE bands like good charlotte andblink 182, because people who listen to them think they can be punk!!! they play crappy power chords and lame riffs, my ex boyfriend could play them...and he was a retard!!!
i also hate pink, although i think she is very attractive and would make a fecking HOT goth...
Creed, i hate...but i'll tolerate it because my dad does actually have good taste in muic sometimes. its compromise...

Betty Curse. She's prancing about with a stereotypically goth facade, but in all truth she sounds like an even worse version of Avril Lavinge. She is 100% manufactured crapness, designed to pull a whole host of 13 year olds who want to be 'dark & scary', but don't want to get in trouble with their parents.

As for her sorry excuse for music, it's about as deep as a drop of water. Her newest song is about her angst for the 'popular' type girls. Well...I'm sure you've heard it all before.

Also her image...well....actually I'm ashamed to admit, she's got a few outfits similar to mine!

She's got the typical list of gothic interests. She says she's influenced y the likes of The Damned & whatnot. But I bet if you asked her who Peter Murphy was, she wouldn't have a clue.

Ummmm who is this junior pop tart that sounds like she stole her guitarist from a J-Rock arena concert?

Mind you I love some J-Rock, and Dir En Grey more than deserves the title of 'Spooky as Hell Pop Rock' (i just can't call them metal, they SHOULD be metal but I just can't do it) but don't give me hyper kinetic teenage rock and try to label it goth because someone put the eyeliner on a tad heavy.

Its something that record companies do which REALLY aggrivates me. They'll slap things on the plastic label just to get the less savvy buyers to slap down $15. The last cd from Action Action (which wasn't too bad) had this stuff all over it that read "For fans of The Cure!"

Well...it didn't really sound at all like The Cure. In fact I had to blot that advertisement out of my head just so I could listen to the album and enjoy it without constantly trying to compare it to the Cure. Don't they ever consider what a disservice they are doing to the listeners by instantly labelling a band as 'like something else'? Either that means this band is a crappy knock off who aren't as good as the originals, or in fact they are nothing like that original band at all but this is the only way the record company can milk sales out of them. To slap a well known band name on top of their cd and hope for the best.

This rant out of the way, she isnt totally without talent. It would be interesting to see what would happen if she slipped the leash and went off on her musical way without all the handlers. Perhaps she could be the inverse to the equation of Marriane Faithful ^.^

I've checked out her MySpace, and yes! she does sound just like Avril Lavigne! I was surprised, and this is like the "Gothic" version of her.</sarcasm>

It seems that they are trying to portray her as a person with Goth clothing, but she herself, is not a Goth which is obviously pitiful. Her music also sounds a lot like Lavigne's, which is definitely not a good sign.

I can only imagine how everyone will be like here in the US. Already with the movement of HIM and Avenged Sevenfold..><!! If she says she listens to Siouxsie, and the Damned, I can really see lots of teenage girls abusing their names and claiming they worship those bands.

As far as Betty Curse goes; goth or no goth; she's hot. And I think that really...when it comes down to it...that's all that matters.

At least to a 17 year old teenaged guy it does.

Don't care much for her music. And speaking of HIM and Avenged Sevenfold, I think they both suck giraffe balls, to which (if you didn't already know) are the hardest to suck. (there's that whole issue of needing a ladder)

I personally like rap, but not just any rap. It has to have a good beat and meaningful lyrics.

Not just anybody with a mixboard and a microphone is good enough for my ears.

I listen to a lot of different music depending on my mood, today, it's been a lot of Celldweller and The Cruxshadows.

As far as the worst band of all time, Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam is bullshit. There. I said it. Fucking Pearl Jam.

Although, (and this is completely true) my friend had a dream the other night where we both went to Hell and Guns N' Roses albums started falling on us...

I was about to vote for Creed until I saw Clay Aiken on there, although technically he's not a band. Will the boy... er man... just come out of the closet already? I'm sure his 12 year old fans won't care if he's gay b/c for some odd reason they like his "music". Anyway he's ugly and his voice is horrid. That one song he had was kind of creepy-stalkerish sounding lol.

Hm...though I'm late to join in I'll go along with the suggestion of Prussian Blue.
They're not talented at all and their message is absolutely sickening.
This "Betty Curse" is pretty annoying too....like the gothic stereotype incarnate. She literally does sound like Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson in a blender...

Also, each time I hear a Nickelback song play I have this strange compulsion to bitch-slap Chad Krueger. Bland radio garbage with shit vocals. It upsets me.
