Who are the darkest movie superheroes?
I'm thinking, who, in your opinion is the darkest most gothic of the comic book/novel dark heroes who went to the big screen?
I know that Wolverine didn't get his own movie yet, so he is ruled out, but my list so far is,
Blade,
The Crow (all the incarnations),
The Punisher,
Hellboy,
The Death Dealers from Underworld,
The Matrix (morpheus/neo etc),
Darkman,
The Phantom,
The Bladerunner,
or Spawn.
Spawn I'm not so sure about about, he doesn't seem fit what is a an image of a damaged but still human anti-hero.
It seems also to be a succesful dark hero you need a trenchcoat/raincoat of some kind and work at your best after nighfall, or in subteranean tunnels and caverns.
No bright lights and recognition for the dark hero, in the distopean city.

How about Constantine? You can't miss Constantine. He was trained by Crowley himself.

the Jocker. Weel, he wasn't properly a superhero (much of the villain), but...Oh well...

I really wanted to avoid the supervillians.
Otherwise, Doc Octo would fit in right there.
By my reckoning, most of the anti/dark heroes tend to use life experience and skill/fitness over superpower, normal skills used in a supernormal way, rather than being better by being superpowered, and "superior" to mortals.

I would say Alan Moores Batman in the classic graphic novel `The Killing Joke`, but then there is the Batman story `Bloodstorm` when he becomes a vampire (and gets to tear out the Jokers throat!!!).
So I think Batman would be a strong contender !!!.

I agree with Beowulf, Batman hands down. He's a bat, bats are evil.

Batman, his name says it all. I also love the Joker, something about green hair and always being happy... in a sadistic way.

I was thinking of the original Batman actually. He didn't fit in the the look of the other "heroes", but he fits in with the dark city/skills not powers/damaged goods, and he must be one of the originals.

His way of killing those who were responsible of the Larkhill incidents... red roses, red roses. The guy gives me the creeps.

Nightcrawler I will need to look into.
Dark Phoenix probably not. Very cool, but not a seperate movie character yet (although I did include a whole species and a "Team" myself).

I thought Spiderman's new costume he got from Iron Man? Unless your talking about the third movie, and not the comic. In that case, fill me in. I love Spiderman.

Not true. A lot of superpowered humans are anti-heros. I can't think of any non-marvel ones, but I'm sure they exist.

I LOVE V!! I don't know why, but I do. If there was a real-life V, I would be his biggest fan, haha.

Either the death dealers, or the crows. I identify more with the crows.
