Hey now, Sky Sky, you know I'm a PotterGeek and that I can't wait till the 7th book/5th movie..
But I feel compelled to disagree with whoever said that HP is considered as literature. While the Harry Potters are a great read and unputdownable(and one of,if not the, best series on Earth), they cannot be considered as literary and put in the same category as,say, Shakespeare or Emily Bronte or many others...

I don't know exactly what qualifies a book as literature, but I do think that J.K. Rowling is a very talented writer. Do you remember how fascinated you were the first time you read the first book? I remember being sucked in. It was amazing. And then the second one, who knew it was even possible to be better than the first? And then it was. What makes Shakespeare literature? Particularly his plays... A couple of them were rip-offs of previously written plots, and they didn't even bother to disguise the names. You've heard of "Romeus and Juliet" by Arthur Brooke? He made up words and spelled things however he felt like it. There are rumours that his works weren't all written by the same person. Why is that closer to literature than the Potter novels?
By the way, Queenie, I luuuurve you. And you need to get sleep, even if there isn't going to be school in the morning. And I hope it gets better.

I don't think I can still edit my previous post, but I've forgotten to mention that I STILL enjoy reading every single book of the Harry Potter series until now even though I've read them so many times..I think that HP's the only series that I can read over and over again and never get bored of them.. I've even tried reading them in other languages, but the names were kind of weird :P

I started on the series when there were just two books out (I was 10 then), and it was a reccommendation from my sister's friend's arty-farty parents (thus I was a bit sceptical about them). We bought both books and took them with us when we went camping, and I read both of them in one night because I was so sucked into the story. :3
SNAPE FTW. He has more depth than any of the other characters (it's debatable whether he's really on the dark side) and he's, like, totally goth. Plus he's the only character who doesn't irritate the shit out of me. <3
Btw to those of you who're turning your nose up at Harry Potter just because it isn't classic literature, you're being retarded. Stop pretending you're so elite.

When have I ever implied that I am "turning my nose up at HArry Potter"??I think I've mentioned in all my posts that I LOVE Harry Potter..I don't think that Harry Potter is classic literature, that's right, but I still believe that it's one of the best books out there, and I'd rather read any HP book than any of the other "classic literature" books..

Dude, wtf?
I have no idea how that happened. Or why it has happened more than once. I definitely know you're Jiji, and I definitely know Queenie is Tracy.
Can we just call me crazy and be done with it?

Mmmmmmm Snape <3
I prefer the books over the movies. The movies tend to cut out the best bits, and add unnecessary scenes and connotations and change the damn plot.

Snape is awesome. Has anyone here ever listened to snapecast? Or am I the only one geeky enough to do that?

Oh I LOVE Harry Potter! ^O^ I even cosplayed short ago as Draco Malfoy (my favourite character! LOL) Aren't you guys impatient for the 7th book?
Ok, I'll skip all my theorising and the like 'cause I might spoil... If any of you guys want to talk about it contact me! ^^
Just a brief note: What characters do you like? And the school houses? Am I the only one that feels as though the book should have been called "The wonderful adventures of the house of Slytherin and all of its magnificent members"?

The kid who plays Harry is quite possibly the worst actor I have ever seen. He is allmost as bad as my spelling! I think the books have a little more to offer, they introduce characters such as Peeves, a delectible little sprite who gets into all sorts of mischief! Allthough he has little to do with the big picture... I really need to work on my spelling...and gramar...and just talking in general...

I....
Love the books. Love the movies. Trust Snape. Wish Alan Rickman would have the job of reading the HP books on CD, so I could fall asleep listening to his voice every night. Never noticed any bad acting the first few times I saw the movies, but by the 200th I cringed at every line spoken by Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

My only forays into the world of Harry Potter have been because I have a serious boner for Alan Rickman. Is that weird?
