I don't know. I seemed to understand it fine. Than again, what do I know right? Either way, the whole "I'm gonna be an ass 'cause I'm better than you" thing certainly has driven passed this lot more than once I see....Anyway this thread's totally pointless now, has lost it's meaning, and kiddos are whining more and more with every minute. Either go off the computer and cry about your guys' problems with each other, or take it somewhere else. This thread doesn't mean anything anymore.

I mean that this is the first forum i've encountered that actually give a damn about community.
Most forums are just full of idiots flaming and generally being the idiots they are.
Ok, well firstly, im not a big fan of compliance, so if you're not happy with the way i type, i don't really care.
Secondly, if your forum has 'customs' such as introductions, then thats fine.
Thirdly, I apologise for being rude, and whatever else I may have been, but the response I immediately got from asking for help, in the same manner I have done on countless other forums, was considered by me as in turn, being quite rude.

Don't be sorry, don't think about it. Just, point is don't do it again. In all honesty, sorry doesn't mean a thing in reality, much less so on the Internet. If people here think this is rude, and bad, they REALLY need to grow up. Just stop argueing with everyone and search somewhere else. Obviously no one here is gonna help. :s I just think you could either keep it long, mohawk, liberty spikes, death hawk it, or dreads. I've never found color too cool.

Sorry does mean something. And this topic has been up for less than a day, so there's still a fair chance that someone may help. And we think it's rude that someone comes into our forum without respecting us.

We may not be nice, but it's how we keep out morons.
Seriously. Use proper grammar. It's not that big a deal, and it has nothing to do with submission, or as you put it "being a fan of compliance." It has to do with courtesy and making yourself respectable.

In your opinion.
I say if someone writes without proper grammar it doesn't mean they shouldn't be respected. Secondly, this is the fucking internet.
Some mass-murderer (unbeknown to you guys) could come on this site, talk with proper grammer, and earn your 'respect', but at the end of the day, hes still an asshole.
All im saying is the level of grammar you use isn't an indication of how respected you should be...

In taking the effort to use proper grammar, you show us some respect, and that gives us a reason to respect you. We don't worship anyone who uses good grammar, but if you disrespect us, we disrespect you. However, getting rid of that disrespect is quite easy, and you have already done it - apologize and start writing in proper grammar.

Perhaps we all should read this: http://www.albion.com/netiquette/corerules.html. And Dest1ny, I especially recommend this piece of excellent literature for you.
As for the spelling issue, this probably originated partly due to it being annoying, and partly because many of us who do not speak English natively have trouble understanding anything not written in proper English. It's a matter of courtesy, manners and a means of making yourself heard; I know I usually skip reading any post if it is badly written because I have other things to do than spending lots of time trying to decipher something some stranger on the internet wrote; and I'm not the only one who does this.

Dest1ny, stop being rude and simply take advice gracefully. That's as nice as I can be to this one.

I think you guys are over-reacting a tiny bit, even though I have to admit the grammar hurts my eyes.
That said I think you could've been a bit warmer with the welcome . I did the same mistake, but my first reply was merely a friendly reminder.
Anyway! About the hair: give us some pictures and it will be much easier for us to help preferably from different angles as well.
If you're into the more.. androgyn look, check out some j-rock hairstyles and tweak them to make them a bit more "gothic" if you so wish.
For example, I'm getting a variation of this haircut later on (the guy to the right), but black and a tad more spikey.
Search for "Visual Kei" or "Oshura Kei" (Oshura is the happy brother of Visual and not really gothic at all though) and you should get some pretty cool ideas.
If you're into the more 19th centuary look, try to look at movies, or pictures from movies, that take place during that time for inspiration. It's quite hard (or at least I had no luck) when it came to finding pictures with hairstyles from the era.
Good luck, it's not easy to decide on a hairstyle.

I don't think anyone really over-reacted. It's not the grammar that's making everyone angry, it's the "Fuck you and the rules EVERYONE has to follow, I'll do what I want" attitude. It's just rude and careless. If you went into someone's home and they asked you to remove your shoes, and it was an established rule, you'd do it, or get the hell out.

I dunno what to do with this thread. It seams like someone just over reacted with a simple suggestion, and it turned this thread upside down.

Anyway, To Dest1ny - Tismine is under a lot of stress, and she [and many others here] feel very strongly about the rules. The best you could do is not argue, appologize, and keep going. They don't mean to start a fight. When they say "I don't like you" they really mean "Go redeem yourself" =P
First impressions are important, but they're not everything. I'm sure if you nicely appologized and did what was asked, you'd be taken seriously.
Other than that- for hair, I suggest you use your own creativitey. I can never find good pictures of hair I want, I always have to draw it out for the hair dresser =P

I'm glad. And yes, I was having a bad day, but they could have been more considerate, and actually followed the rules.

I doubt it will happen. He's probably already turned tail and run. Or, which is likely if he is petty (which he appears to be), he's following this thread religiously and seething over our apparent 'stupidity.'
