Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Ear worms
If you're like me, you've constantly got a song buzzing around in your head; an ear worm. So, which song has taken over your mind?
For me, right now it's the Beer Song - I sure you've heard it. It's rather simple, and very repetitive... "One hundred bottles of beer in a bar, one hundred bottles of beer, and we take one out and we pass it 'round, and there's 99 bottles of beer. 99 bottles of beer in a bar," etc ad nauseam....

I have heard another version...
99 bottles of beer on a wall,
99 bottles on a wall
if one of those bottles should happen to fall
there'd be 98 bottles of beer on a wall
I have it on mp3

I am eternally greatful to Minilayel for starting this thread. "Digital" by Joy Division has been my earworm.

Goth Rock gem by the lovely Fiends, the live verison of 'RIP (Blue Crumb Truck)'-Mainly the beginning drum solo. And I am grateful as well. I really think someone should cover that song. And the live verison sounds more goth and deathrock then the album verison, which relies on the techno/drum machine work. Not too big of a fan of that. But ASF is an execption.

I just went to Dr. Steel's myspace page the other day, and now I've had "Back and Forth" stuck in my head.

I have "Hollow Eyes" by Red Lorry Yellow Lorry stuck in my cranium. They're a semi-crappy band but I like them anyway.

It's not an actual song, but this line from South Park, "La La La La Lala La Ha Ha Ha Ha Haha Ha Na Na Na Na Na" has been playing repetitively in my head for about three months.
Right now though the song "This Monkey's gone to Heaven" by the Pixies is stuck in my head

Sorry to sound like an advertiser, but ANY song is available to download for free at http://www.slsknet.org , using its little program. I love it!
For me right now, it would be "Bleeding In my Arms" by Frank the Baptist. Yesterday it was a bunch of Fields of the Nephilim songs. I severely kicked myself for not listening to them sooner. >,..,<

That Scissor Sisters song, "I Can't Decide". I blame the Doctor Who season finale.
I normally have terribly naff songs that they play in work stuck in my head. Endless Westlife and Phil Collins... *shivers*

You know, I've actually downloaded that program now, probably as a result of its constant mention.
... I really like it. Thanks for letting me know about it ^^

Do you mean to say you've never listened to them before? How shameful!!
My first listen to "Moonchild" was simply orgasmic.

Erhm. Tell you what, I know someone who has it. I don't have it anymore, but I'll try to get hold of it, then I can send it to you.

Cyntrox - that'd be great. =)
My current earworm, quite apart from said song which still buzzes around up there is a little phrase from a Siouxsie & the Banshees song which runs "slide up the banister... take the escalator" etc (or so I think; not quite sure).
