Angel sanctuary rocks! I've been halfway through my perspex kurai wings for cosplay for a year or so now... because I'm so lazy.

Here's some of my new favourites:
I Feel Sick
Fables
Bone
Freesia

Freesia is a very cool and very unusual comic that's only been released in Japan; there's a scanlation available freely online, which you can find through google. I highly reccommend it to anyone who likes guns, or death, or weirdness in general. Incomplete, though, so we have to wait until the artist makes us some more for the plot to actually resolve itself.

Funny, I see that in America, at least, most people's favourites are all serials.

In Europe, I believe we tend to favour the kind of comics you usually call graphic novels. It's usually a single story in a single book or the ever popular money-sucking trilogy in a larger format than the usual US comic book (and in hard-cover).

They are also a lot more expensive, but I wouldn't trade my Corto Maltese and Asterix novels for anything.

Oh, and manga? I got AKIRA, Dragonball-Z, Mother Sarah, the italian opera Don Giovanni in a futuristic-retro european renaissance/samurai style...

Did I mention I have Ghost In The Shell I and II on DVD?

Graphic Novels are really huge here as well..

Manimal and I have quite the collection, although to be fair, he has WAY more than I do.

Plus we live less than a mile from Dark Horse Comics!!

Mael, you need to break down and get the Sin City graphic novels..

Mmm mmm goooood!!!

Check out the website below for " Things from Another World "

They are right across the street from Dark Horse, and have a uber nice website for all of your comix/graphic novels/action figure/figurine/suppository needs..

And here is a link directly to TFAN's Sin City shop:

I'll check out the links, but lemme tell you: I've had the Sin City Novels for over 6 years now... (Sin City / That Yellow Bastard / Family Values)

I'm disapointed that "Family Values" wasn't included....

Just checked it and I'm confused. I only got three volumes

In my "Sin City" book, the story seems to be complete, from the moment Marvin Wakes up next to Goldie 'till he dies in the chair.

My "That Yellow Bastard" volume has the whole story from our hero's last evening before retirement and subsequent saviour of the lil' girl, 'till he kills the fucker and rips out his balls (dick included).

But Family Values....Miko on rollerblades and samurai katana..... the best....

I will always and forever be loyal to Asterix...I have a spaniel named Petrolium Pumpus. I just wish I could find the damn things in the US. I took living overseas for granted...

Elfquest and the Crow are also fab. I don't have many traditional comic books, per se. More graphic novels, especially since the nearest comic shop is three hours from me. (Damn resort towns...) I need to read sandman, as I do fancy Neil Gaiman's work. Tank girl was also a fun read. Gotta make like a riot grrrl once in a while.

The Watchmen, The Preacher, The many Sin City yarns, American Splendor (more depressing than anything else I've ever read), JtHM... The Watchmen first and foremost though.

Favorite comic?

My favorite was a Marvel limited series of 4 issues done by Chris Claremont, WAY back in the eighties called "Magick".

It was about a young russian girl, the sister of one of the x men, who was kidnapped by a demon and taken to a hellish plane, where she was trained to be a demonic queen who would open the gates of hell into our world.

It can be gotten very cheaply, as it is a little know classic work. And it is worth having, for any x men, occult horror comic fan.

Think Lovecraft crossed with x men.

I like Batman, X-Men, and Sojourn. For manga, I like Pet Shop of Horrors, Les Bijoux, Cowboy Bebop, Clover, and Nausicaa. I also like Catwoman when drawn by Jim Balent, and Elfquest when done by the Pinis.
