Moving to Cairo finally landed me in a nice, spacious room!
It's kinda sloppy at the moment, because I've been throwing my clean clothes around instead of putting them away, but it's the only part of the house that I have mostly to myself.
No computer in there, though. >.<

My room is on the smaller side. Two walls are green, two are purple (hopefully to be changed to a dark maroon color), and it feels like the inside of a jack-in-the-box. I have large golden oak furniture, not my choice, including a day bed, desk, book case, dressed, and bureau. I also have a small brown book case my father made for me when I was really little. Even though I have tons of storage spaces, my room is still a bit of a mess. I like it that way. It's organized in a way that I understand, and a way that looks messy. The carpeting is gray with spill and make up stains on it and is left over from the previous owner. I take the blame for the make up stains, but not the spills. My mirror is covered in comics, name tags, drawings, and other things, the wall above my bed has a white board with song lyrics on it, another wall has a window covered by a bed sheet (my father has yet to finish staining the trim, thus it is without trim, blinds, and curtains), and the final wall has a collage of pictures, drawings, poems, articles, notes, signed t shirts in plastic bags, tickets, and a million other things. I admit, there are a lot of improvements yet to be made, but my room does express who I am in a non-offensive way.

Oh and an entire floorful of junk and various electronic devices (my whole computer/speakers setup is currently on my bedroom floor).
Nothing on the walls yet, but I do plan on hanging my jolly roger up sometime.

There's also a cat with a violent foot fetish and that really skinny, ugly goth kid who hangs around.
My rooms quite small. I don't have enough room for everything at the moment so half of it is on the floor collecting cat hair and fluff. I've got swords and various other medieval weapons on the walls and shelves along with some posters. A black queen sized bed, an old bed side table. A tv. Two cd players. Three guitars (two electric) and two amplifiers. Records, cd's. Loads of clothes (most of which I don't like and are too big) A desk. And heaps of books, candles and other shit I've forgotten to mention

My room is rather small and dark, usually with the smell of incense wafting out of it. My bed takes up most of the room (A huge cast-iron 4-poster I got as a birthday gift from my one sister). My bedsheets and curtains are black and gray. Right next to my bed I have a small table with my PC on it. I have a few fantasy and goth pics on my wall.

Mmmmmm. I like it. It must horrify somebody. :-)
I've only got pics of the bed; they're around here somewhere.... Ahh, here they are.
<um, gee, crap. Board won't let me post pics. I guess narration is in order.>
The bed is a black faux iron canopy bed. It's draped in black net with flocked roses, and eggplant satin. The comforter is a Renaissance damask in purple, black and gold. Sheets are deep purple.
I've managed to make it dark in there - really, really dark. I've hung black curtains to block out light, and don't use a lot of artificial light. The walls are a beige with undefined colors coming up through the texture inexpertly applied to the wall. It's bad; if you fell against it, you'd get road rash. It's on the list to fix, but not before the bathroom is finished.
My dresser and vanity are hand-me-downs from my great-aunt; Empire style in mahogany. The linear trim neatly matches the original 19th century trim in the rest of the house. The vanity has two buffet-style lamps framing the mirror. However as I said not too much artificial light, it's not particularly useful for grooming. I did say that the bathroom is a priority, right?
Knick-knacks include gargoyles from Target at Halloween, tall wrought-iron candle holders, little Gothic-building-looking tea light holders, Edgar the raven, flap cats, and a pair of plush black cats with marabou tails. As you can see in the pics, a pair of mobile cats also decorate the room from time to time.
There's a lot of work to be done in there; the original woodwork (2 board and batton window frames; 2 matching door frames; 9" base mouldings) needs to be all stripped, the hazardous walls need to be plastered over. Once I get the walls done, I'm planning on hanging old family photos - my beautiful great aunts in particular - and some of the wall brackets to put things like the flap cats on.
I like it a lot. Even more so since my mother looked at and asked, "are you in mourning or something??" *beg*

Pictures are something you get when you've posted more, same as Private Messages and other things. There are perks to staying around, kind of.
Your room may need work, but it's still a lot better than mine- at least you have some interesting furniture and have been able to hang up curtains!
My mother still hasn't seen what my place is like. Hopefully I can keep it that way to avoid being badgered about moving my piles of clothing!

My apartment is comfy and spacious. The walls are dark purpe and the ceiling is gray. There are some posters of Human Drama and Joy Division here and there. I plan to buy sheets and black curtains and install some church looking glass on the windows. Perhaps one day I will wooden the floor.

I'm moving into the basement. The walls are a weird sandy yellow color. I've got posters for Slayer, The Sex Pistols, KMFDM, Dead Kennedys and my personal favorite my 3 foot wide by 4 foot tall Amebix poster. Stereo, with Omega speakers my dad had when he was in high school, guitar, amp and bass.

I love both of my rooms (the one at home as well as the one at school) I just wish that I could combine the two. I love the structure of the room at home (the house has an exposed post and beam construction) and it is a much bigger room but because of the way it was built I am unable to easily paint it (took about three days to paint a tiny bathroom) and when the house was built I was not yet planned for and the room was supposed to be a studio so there are white walls. At school I have painted my room a lovely shade of gray (kind of like a warm slate) and I have a much more sophisticated color scheme (white, slate gray, black, and rich reds) but I have much nicer furniture at home (and all of it is solid cherry and is an actual matching set including a queen sized bed, a tall dresser, a wide dresser, a nightstand and a mirror) but that furniture would not fit in my room at school. Oh well one day I will be able to afford a bigger room (the rest of the apartment is a fantastic size, although I wouldn’t mind a slightly larger kitchen but I think it will have a lot more room when it is reorganized) although I doubt I will ever live somewhere that has better views than I have at home *sigh* I do miss the wildlife while I am at school
(Sorry if that is a bit convoluted, the office makes my brain turn to mush)
