NO ONE said that something being weird or unusual is bad.
I said that to specify that she "doesn't have a problem with it" is bad because it showcases her insane sexual repression.
Like I said to her--if someone were talking about collecting stamps or something, she'd never say that. Because it has something to do with sex it's different, which is bullshit.

That still applies to me. I find it weird because it has something to do with sex.
That just makes it stand out, not stand against.

Tam "doesn't have a problem with it" because most people consider it odd, and she Ophelia letting you know that, yeah, she thinks its a bit weird (which is implied), but she accepts that about Ophelia. However, the issue arises when she implied that anything dealing with sex is 'unproductive', that and she believes in the stereotype that people who are interested in things of a sexual nature should be more worried about living a healthy life than those who collect coins or the like. It shows, as Ophelia stated, her sexual repression.

Where did I even indicate sex isn't productive? Seriously, I don't remember even thinking that. I -do-, however, see a lot of folks assuming things about my beliefs about sex that I haven't stated.
I'm looking forward to making love to my husband in a few weeks when I get married. Yes, I've been, in a sense, sexually 'repressed', if that's what you call saving sex for marriage. No, I don't hold anything against folks who don't wait, especially for folks who don't hold the same religious beliefs I do.
As for hanging out with fundie Christians, yes, some of my friends are. The majority, however, are quite liberal. My best friend, who is a Christian, is currently enthralled with Queer As Folk, and if I wasn't busy with my fiance, I probably would be too. Truth is, I have a HUGE problem with most fundies, because I think that some of their beliefs are a bit unrealistic...but that's another discussion for another time. Regardless, all of this went WAY too far with WAY too many assumptions, and I think it's far too much drama for the topic at hand. I didn't mean to upset anyone, nor did I mean to indicate anyone was 'bad' or 'wrong'. If anyone assumed that, then there's really nothing I can do about that.
