I'm seriously arguing with a jackass who says calling people idiots isn't insulting, and the aboriginal just might as well starve to death because how are their lives better than the lives of the caribou?
I'm defending hunting an endangered species, you guys, take a picture.

I was really confused for a minute because I thought the caribou population was pretty healthy but apparently the woodland caribou population (the majority of the ones in Canada) are endangered but other populations (like the one in Alaska) are in much better shape.

So I guess with the dog picture he can't tell what I look like, but he decided to call me a racist for saying white people think being called racist is worse than actual racism.
I feel like this should be framed. The white vegan racistly preys on white men trying to protect the caribou.

I won't rant about the body-shaming issue, other than to say that fitness doesn't equate to thinness.
I'm 112kg and I am only just shy of running 10km. I missed it by about 50m on Sunday. That is a metric fucktonne more of fitness than most of the thinner people that I know.
With regards to the sex work issue.. I hate the "what sort of guy??" questions almost as much as I hate the "what sort of woman??" questions. If a consenting adult wants to work in the industry, let them.. if a consenting adult wants to make use of that industry, let them.
Some of the nicest and most wonderful people I've met have been clients - the stereotype that they are all socially inept losers is as untrue as the stereotype that all sex workers are junkies or victims of human trafficking.

I didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with a man going to a sex worker, sorry if it came across that way. I only meant that people who view sex work as a shameful or disgusting thing (which I don't provided that everything is legal and safe) seem to only think it is shameful for the women involved.

I didn't think that you were saying that.. and I'm sorry if it seemed like I was snarking at you.
I just hear it a lot - along with the "oh.. you poor thing, it must be so awful to have those disgusting men slobbering all over you!" It gets tiring.
The rhetoric gets tiring, not the slobbering.. the slobbering isn't actually a thing.

I find it interesting too the assumption that its always men, you know? Like some of the strip bars here, much to the displeasure of lesbians (and lesbian strippers, of which there are a lot) require women to have male escorts to get into the bar. And there's very little dialogue on queer sex workers in general. I can't imagine what trans* people who don't pass have to go through to get in.

Interesting, I didn't know that was an issue. I've been to a few strip clubs and never had a problem getting in but maybe that has to do with the fact that in Virginia in order to serve alcohol a place has to be designated as a restaurant and is required to serve real food.

Could be, the more popular strip joints here promote themselves as "gentlemen's clubs", although they had this radio ad that drove me nuts where this woman was talking about how her blind date takes her to this strip club (one of the ones that has this male escort policy) and how he made her feel she was the most beautiful woman in the room, "even though I clearly wasn't". And she ends it by saying of course she didn't have sex with him (how slutty would that be!), but she wanted to.

It was me! I ran off with it. We are now married. Me and your post. It was an amazing ceremony. All my fruity and batty friends were invited. The post wore white.

You are so totally right. Imagine my surprise, on our wedding night, when I discovered, that the post wasn't a virgin.
Have only got 4 jobs on at the moment. All of them need to be done yesterday, and one of them involves climbing a ladder, which, thanks to my vertigo, make it a barrel of laughs.
perhaps that's why I was so quick to run off with your post.

We are now on our 16th day of pea-soup-thick fog. Yay.
So, Batty, could you run off with a few of my posts. And take our weather with you?

Awe, Batty, all is forgiven. I know you're under a lot of pressure. And you know, I read somewhere that virginity is a concept made up by men who think so much of their penises that they think they can fundamentally change who a woman is. *hugs*

Ape - doesn't your hymen grow back, if you don't have intercourse? think I read it somewhere.. well it doesn't grow back per se, it is stretched when you have intercourse, and it goes back if you don't have sex. Or something like that.
Brain is catcus this arvo. CAn't think of words.. maybe too much paint fumes. Painting 12foot ceilings by paint brush. Fuck that for a joke. So short, I have to put the 8ft ladder on the dining table - don't even mention the OHS issues with that.
Then I've got the job applications, and editing a friend's application for work (only 65 pages due in two days), then my books to edit (only 3 of them), the ceiling to finish painting, sore arms/wrists, the house to clean, dinner to cook, no money in the bank, a sister on the otherside of the world who is sick, and who, if I'm lucky, I'll get to visit in about 8mths if by some miracle I can find the money.
I have to dig out for a retaining wall, and dig a trench for storm water pipes, and my back and arms aren't up to the task, but there's no one else to do it.
Blah, blah, blah, poor me, yada, yada, yada... Gawd, I'm over me already.
JJ - yes I shall run off with some of your posts.

So my aunt just died... and my girlfriend is starting to think I don't love her anymore which of course you all know what that means.
Fuck this. Someone shoot me.

Ashley: Sorry to hear about your aunt.
I have a loaded waterpistol, that I use to get the cats off the kitchen bench... does that count if I shoot you with it and yell "Get off my benches!"

Sorry about your Aunt, Ashley.
Still don't know how mine is doing because I haven't heard from my cousin. Still don't know how my other cousin is doing either, which concerns me because his mom is the other aunt who died from breast cancer -- which he also has. So, maybe no news is good news.
Today, however, I'm still bummed. Today is my late mom's birthday. Woke up bummed, thinking, "I can't even send her a card." I can go put flowers on her grave, but they'll just freeze and besides she won't see them anyway. Going to try and go do something fun today and see if that works.
