Dear, dear Ms. A. Sorry to hear about your bud. Hugs.
And. Having had to type yet another sad report on yet another young life permanently altered by a drunk driver -- Dear Gnet folks, please, please, please, over this St. Patrick's Day holiday, enjoy yourselves, but above all-- Drive Sober and Drive Safely! Okay. That's not a request -- that's an order (because I'm a medical professional and a mom). *heavy sighs*

Thanks guys.
@Jaye Jang - I'm with you on the drink/drive thing. It used to infuriate me when I was nursing. Please take care of yourself, having to deal with that all of the time leaves a toll.

Well Mary doesn't drink (and the party will start in the early afternoon) so I'm not pre-mixing anything alcoholic and just letting people utilize our fairly well stocked bar. That being said there will be fresh lemonade, coffee, various teas, and a mimosa bar with bubbly and various juices.

I was going to make mocktails and put them in bottles with Drink Me tags.

Love her, pet her, take care of her. That's all you can really do, there isn't anything beyond that, you've already given her years that she wouldn't have had otherwise. *hugs* Its hard to loose a friend, regardless of species.

I watched an 8 disc boxset of the original Dark Shadows only to find that it stops at episode 290 and worst of all there aren't any others released in Australia.

I was going to do that but I couldn't find any inexpensive bottles that you can actually put a drink in (the cheap ones are for decoration only, not food safe, and I'm trying not to keep a fairly tight budget) so I'm just making a drink me label for the lemonade even though it will be in a large container.

Bless you Sol et al. Hope you had a fun -- and safe -- St. Paddy's Day. Me, I had to work OT because that's one of the holidays where the workload skyrockets. So, after getting off I went to bed and crashed -- and woke up with hayfever. Yay!! Soon as the snow dies down the pollen count goes up. So, I have to go to work with itchy, swollen eyes, a runny nose and a head that feels like it's been stepped on. Oh, the joys of having hayfever. I get to suffer all of the ill effects of having celebrated St. Patrick's Day without any of the real effort. Happy me.

^this. Sorry to hear Miss A of your loss of your friend/dog.
What is it with Indian men and gang rrape?
My wrists are stuffed. More painkillers to get through what I need to do. Totally sucks sometimes to be a primary carer, to someone who can't walk.

I posted on facebook about the whole concept of friend zoning is sexist and the two responses I got were guys about how sometimes guys friend zone girls so clearly my post is completely invalid. Ugh I could rant for ages about how the two are not really parallel but I'm just too tired of this shit.

Dislocated my shoulder and my muscles have now gone into spasm. Doctor has prescribed me Tramadol and Diazepam for the pain. I wish I didn't have to take so many tablets all the time, I feel so rubbish from side effects and stuff

Ouch, that sucks! Get well soon MissCheyenne!
I feel your pain Sol, crap like that's really annoying.
My rant:
For the past week and a half my internal clock has been screwed up. The earliest I'll go to bed is 3.00 am and no matter what I do, nothing will help me go to bed earlier. Green tea, exercise several hours earlier, and yoga doesn't work. I'm truly at a loss over this.

Miss C im so sorry. I should have said something when you were swinging that claymore around like a stick. But you just seemed so happy killing all dem orcs.
That moment when someone goes out of their way to call you "sir".
And in such a tone as if the very word will shake the earth and teach me my place in the world. At my work too! So all i can do is smile and tell them to "have a nice day"

Ugh I hate being told that it is sexist to say something is sexist because sometimes it happens the other way around too but much more than that I cannot stand when I get told that I'm only reading/hearing what I want because the person I'm arguing with is a guy. Fuck that shit, the fact that you're wrong is why I have a problem with what you are saying, the fact that you have a dick really doesn't come in to play.

Totally, that shit gets pretty old.
My usual retort is this.
Guy gets "frienzoned", he gets sympathy from his friends and she's generally viewed as some stupid girl who doesn't know what's good for her own self.
Lady gets "frienzoned", she's expected to get over the fact that he doesn't like her like that, no questions asked.
Bleh... fucking gender in culture makes me wanna chew on my own facebones.

Anti-choicers. Why you gotta bring your kids along in the freezing snow to protest women's choices, at a hospital?
And when the old people come up and say shit to us, I feel bad for all the nasty things I'd like to say.
