Halo 2 or Half-Life 2?
I was just wondering what people were intending to buy, as one of my friends thinks that Halo 2 will smash Half-life 2 as they are out very close together, but I'm not so sure, I think it might have a bigger fanbase what with the add-ons, especially Counterstrike. Of course there are the clever people who will buy both. So where do you stand?

Halo 2.....with the newly added weapons, the GTA car robbing, and the fact that you can hold two weapons at once.....I can't wait.
I hear that they took out the scope for the pistol...this kinda sucks, but I will work through it.

I haven't played either game but I think that Halo 2 wins in the multiplayer realm. They focused more on the multiplayer then a good story.
Half Life 2 seems to have a more interesting storyline. I'm not too sure about the multiplayer (I only know the stuff that I know from watching my fiance and his friends play the games) but I think Halo 2 wins for multiplayer and Half Life 2 for story.

Seconded. This beats Halo 2 any day of the week.
Big guns rock.

My kid brother introduced me to Quake II a few years ago, and I totally fell in love with the 1st person shooter idea.
In 2003, in Macau, he introduced me to Half-Lifeand....WHOOOOOAAAAA!!!!!!
He's coming to visit soon and he's bringing me HL2: YESSS!!!
I never played any of the Halos, but if however wrong, someone dares to try and compare them, then there must be something to that game (or the poster is insane).
Big guns? I'm a crowbar kind of dude.
Like D. Lee Roth said: if you can't sing onstage with just one lightbulb, a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, ain't no amount of tech lights, smoke effects and lycra gonna save your arse.
I was playing an oldie called Deus Ex the other day, and it wasn't bad, but in spite of a great story, it doesn't come close to Half-life

Well... now I have a PC that can in fact play games, I'm not sure whether to dive right in and get Half life 2, or learn up on the storyline in the original (found a copy for £5)... Hell why don't I just get both, start on the first, while going on Counterstrike: Source (do people recommend getting the expansions for half-life if I'm interested in the story stuff?)

Been playing Opposing Force (where you're one of the Special Forces sent in to take out Freeman) and Blue Shift (where you're the security guard that Freeman sees banging on a door at the beginning of Half-Life 1).
And they're both great. Different weapons (I loves my desert eagle with laser sight and that BIG FUCKING MACHINE-GUN!!!!!!!)

Well from what I have played of halo 2 it sucks. I think the original was and ok game. One of the major things that pisses me off to all hell is that the light will just cut out in dark places. It will stay on for a random amount of time and die.
As for Half life 2 I have yet to play it, but it looks like a really good game. I am awaiting a chance to play or possible buy it. Low funds from a crappy job keep me poor though.

or any other thoughts you might input on any other games.(any system)...

I haven't played either, but my boyfriend says Half Life 2 is better. I bought the game for him last year.

Halo. Halo. Halo. I've played both religiously Halo and Half-life. I must say I like Half life's single player better and the story line, but I'm a Halo fanatic and The Multiplayer just owns all for me. Slayer!
