Wannabe's tend to advertise their "gothdom" with certain key flags.
Just a random example out of nowhere:
Supposing they were to join a website, they'd usually have usernames containing "Goth" or "gothic" or "gawth" or any variation there of as well as numerical values such as "666" or "69" neither of which are tied directly to the subculture itself.
Just a random example.
