Ha. There's large difference between belief and observable fact.

I'm not going to try to argue the point whether or not there is a god to you joyslayer because your beleifs are yours and you need something to hold on to.

And why do you think god would enjoy punishing you or anyone at all.

Its called free will we have a conscious and so we decide what we do with our lives from the time we wake up till the time we go to sleep we make the CHOICES

So no I dont think evil exists Its just the bad choices people make

Evil is good.Angels are the manifistation of good as are demons the manifistation evil.Demons are nothing more then fallen Angels .Evil is just a variation of good .Lucifer the demented sinister pre meditated insolence that refused to seve a man is evil. What makes him evil thought and independence....Evil is a word and a aspect of the mind.
I'll be gone shortly.

not really evil - but definately painful - and to some the pain can be joyous... so there really is no answer

only perspective - how utterly human and pointless is that?

Evil doesn't exist; it is a subjective term to be applied to absolutes.

There's no such thing as pure selfishness, and no such thing as pure selflessness. The Catholic church in Austria preached anti-semitism; Hitler was a bi-product of that. Are you going to suggest that the Catholic church is evil?
That is why I respect you Dis. You have the same argument as I on this matter. And I'd also much sooner bring up a few Russian Czars who slaughtered their own people before I brought up Hitler.

I know what you mean Demonista, and I'm under the same impression.

Evil is just a word, the same as time. Neither really exist, they are just use as a state of measurement and description.

Yes...Kinda like

Rate on the EVIL METER!

What's eviler?

Rubbing your crotch with a peanut butter sandwich to pleasure yourself?

Or watching home made pronography made by your grandparents?

Like Korova said...It's a state of measurement.

The concept of evil has as many palpable properties as the concept of morality: None. They do not actually exist. Just as morality is judged by the individual or the society, so is the measurement of evil. I believe that we can do without the concept of evil, but morality is too built into our ways of thinking to be gotten rid of.

Ooh, I actually like the way Scythan worded it. We had the same discussion of morality barriers in different societies in one of my classes a while back.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go rub a peanut butter sandwich in my crotch.

...mmm *drool*
