The Gothic Beauty 25 Year Reunion of Original Artists calendar is a celebratory Kickstarter project created by Gothic Beauty, the long-running publisher behind Gothic Beauty Magazine and the Gothic Beauty Box. (Just for full transparency, I read Gothic Beauty as a baby bat and I sometimes write for Gothic Beauty these days.) This campaign marks a quarter-century of the magazine’s influence in the goth community, bringing together original artists and contributors to honor the publication’s legacy in a format that supporters can enjoy all year […]

The incredible designers at Punk Rave have struck again. Their newest item of men’s apparel is a three quarter length black coat. This fitted piece is made of polyester in varying textures, with a few cleverly placed appliques and edges with a bit of a military-inspired feel. The dark-haired gothic gent they have modeling the coat shows it off to elegant effect.

Releasing this film the day before Valentines Day has that certain je ne sais quois sense of humor which I expect from its creative team. Is it date movie or a forget VDay flick? You’ll have to decide. I’m predicting it will be both creepy and funny. Jessica Rothe leads the returning cast of Happy Death Day 2U, the follow-up to Blumhouse’s (Split, Get Out, The Purge series) surprise 2017 smash hit of riveting, repeating twists and comic turns. This time, our hero Tree (Rothe) […]

Goth girls sans pants photographed by Allan Amato who has shot a lot of Gothic.net’s favorite authors. The book includes Amanda Palmer (longtime readers will recall we used to host her Dresden Dolls site.) Also spooky name comic book artist flourishes of design. Also interviews with models. Check the Seraph book out.

Beautiful goth and horror icon RazorCandi used to have a Facebook page with almost 150,000 followers, but Facebook unpublished the page. Supposedly this happens because there are too many complaints, but she just posted one of the images which apparently got a lot of negative feedback. It is a meme of her looking very deathrock in a cemetery and it says: “Oh, I dress like a freak? Please explain to me what “normal” is in grave detail.” I assume she was not banned just for […]

One of the most popular features we ever did on this site was Ed Grabianowski’s Exclusive Interview: Goth Fashion Icon and Horror Fan RazorCandi. Tonight, you can all be Ed Grabianowski over on Reddit in the IamA subreddit where you will be able to ask RazorCandi anything at 9PM PDT (West Coast) / 11PM (Central) / Midnight (East Coast) on Friday, September 23. (In GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), this is actually 4am Saturday and 7am where RazorCandi is in Transylvania.) Edit: The Ask Me Anything […]

The BLT Kickstarter added a bunch of in-your-face shirt designs today. The art is so over-the-top and I love the themes. These are apparently going to use some sort of soft screenprinting process which utilizes bleach, so they won’t have any thick plastic feel. My favorites from this batch are the straitjacket guy with his brain exposed for examination and the Coffee is my drug guy with his head exploding. I don’t even have a migraine today, but those just speak to me. Of course, […]

Old skool goths probably remember the little BLT humor zines from conventions. Each issue had hilarious, witty, and sarcastic writing and really cool artwork. Content ranged from goth-industrial club reviews to quizzes on how to tell if you are dating a vampire (spoiler: you are not dating a vampire.) My favorite parts were probably the bad advice columns and the band interview outtakes with funny things that happened while interviewing bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Die Warzau, Frontline Assembly, GBH, Dread Zeppelin, and more. […]

We like gothic and we like literary, so Heavy Red’s Alice en Bataille couture Halloween costume really hits the spot. The concept is a sort of goth battle-ready Alice in Wonderland. Each year, Heavy Red does a different take on Alice in Wonderland cosplay. Maybe I am over-thinking it, but I do believe the progression of Alice costumes progresses through the themes of the books, first riffing on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and now moving on to Through the Looking-Glass. If you would like to […]
