The Gothic Beauty 25 Year Reunion of Original Artists calendar is a celebratory Kickstarter project created by Gothic Beauty, the long-running publisher behind Gothic Beauty Magazine and the Gothic Beauty Box. (Just for full transparency, I read Gothic Beauty as a baby bat and I sometimes write for Gothic Beauty these days.) This campaign marks a quarter-century of the magazine’s influence in the goth community, bringing together original artists and contributors to honor the publication’s legacy in a format that supporters can enjoy all year […]

Gothic Beauty Magazine, issue #53 offers sweet warmth, like that first taste of fine wine on the lips, with the appearance of the gorgeous Twiggy on the cover, posing in a delicious style while wearing the amazing LashyDoodle Gothic Double Drama Kit eyelashes. I’m looking at the digital edition right now, but it also comes in a Gothic Beauty Magazine print subscription. A drop of personal artistry becomes an abundant pour of self-expression through the engaging artefacts that this issue features to help add a […]

The arrival of issue #52 of Gothic Beauty Magazine is as sweet as a kiss from our favorite vampire, and it is ready to charm our hearts and minds from the first enticing look at the beauty of Acid Doll gracing the cover while wearing one of the stunning designs by Lena’s Wulgaria, who gives an in-depth look at her work and dark fairy-tale couture style through an interview in this gothic journey. This issue comes like a ray of caressing moonlight that parts the […]

Edgy punk and underground humor zine Black Leather Times is compiling all their many issues into one huge compendium, with help from crowdfunding leader Kickstarter and we’re looking forward to getting our hands on the project. One of my favorite issues is all about cannibalism and includes detailed ‘How To’ instructions on making authentic shrunken heads, along with some hilariously creepy serial killer quotes and coverage to spice things up a bit. I don’t see the cannibalism cover among the t-shirts available to supporters yet, […]

The BLT Kickstarter added a bunch of in-your-face shirt designs today. The art is so over-the-top and I love the themes. These are apparently going to use some sort of soft screenprinting process which utilizes bleach, so they won’t have any thick plastic feel. My favorites from this batch are the straitjacket guy with his brain exposed for examination and the Coffee is my drug guy with his head exploding. I don’t even have a migraine today, but those just speak to me. Of course, […]

Old skool goths probably remember the little BLT humor zines from conventions. Each issue had hilarious, witty, and sarcastic writing and really cool artwork. Content ranged from goth-industrial club reviews to quizzes on how to tell if you are dating a vampire (spoiler: you are not dating a vampire.) My favorite parts were probably the bad advice columns and the band interview outtakes with funny things that happened while interviewing bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Die Warzau, Frontline Assembly, GBH, Dread Zeppelin, and more. […]

We were just reminded by Gothic.Org that, even though the new Martha Stewart Living Halloween special comes out this week, we can get started with last year’s and get to all those Halloween projects we might have procrastinated. Most notably, the issue has an online portion with templates for creating all the crafts described in the magazine and those templates include a Raven, suitable for jack o’lantern pumpkin decoration. I’m sure Gothic.Net readers mostly know that Nars makes the best dark eye makeup, but Martha […]

It is Zombie time at Gore Magazine and they are offering some treats for you undead lovers in the Zombie issue. It offers a variety of ideas for makeup and zombie clothing and party ideas. Perhaps my favorite special in this issue is the Cannibal Cookbook, how would you like an arterial spritzer? Sounds delicious to me!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This phrase has been repeated for centuries and there is truth to the words. Does it take a shiny, new structure to elicit a response of awe or reverence? Not at all. Flavorpill proves this fact by giving us breathtaking images of abandoned train stations that span the globe. Once prolific and bustling with people, they are now alone, isolated, discarded to the elements. There is something to be said about the dark arches and broken windows. […]

Looking through some of the links to things related to the annual Whitby Goth Weekend, which appropriately occurs around Halloween each year, along with the related Bram stoker Film Festival which is held somewhat concurrently and ran across this fun little horror zine from the UK called the Necronomicon Fanzine. If you are into cult Horror cinema and quirky zines, this one looks like a good addition to your collection. You could pick it up when you go to the Bram stoker Film Festival and […]
